I have practiced law in Tucson, Arizona since 1979. Throughout my career, I have always represented victims of other’s wrongdoing.

I was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Michigan. I attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio graduating with a B.A. in Psychology in 1973. I then pursued my law degree at the University of Kentucky Law School and graduated in 1979. I was admitted to the Arizona State Bar and the United States District Court in 1979, the State of Washington Supreme Court in 1984, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 1997.

In 1979, I began my legal career as a prosecuting attorney at the Pima County Attorney’s Office in Tucson, Arizona. Assigned to the felony crimes unit as a trial attorney, I handled a wide variety of criminal cases including murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, fraud and embezzlement, trying in excess of fifty cases to a jury. This experience proved to be invaluable in sharpening my skills as a trial lawyer and as an advocate for my clients.

In 1986, I joined a personal injury law firm in Tucson, Arizona representing injured people in personal injury cases including motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, premise liability, and product liability.

In 1994, I opened my own office in Tucson representing honest people with serious injury claims. I actively litigate each case endeavoring to give personalized individual attention to each of my clients. My goal is to achieve the best outcome for my clients and to assure that their interests are always protected.

I have been peer review rated by lawyers and judges in the Tucson community and have been given the highest rating of ‘AV’ by Martindale-Hubbell, a national attorney rating firm. The ‘AV’ rating is the highest attainable level for professional skill and professional ethics. I am a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Washington State Bar, the Pima County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association.

I am board certified in wrongful death and personal injury litigation by the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. To be board certified it is necessary for the lawyer to show “substantial involvement in the field of injury and wrongful death litigation.” The Board Certified Lawyer must be engaged in wrongful death and personal injury litigation as a substantial focus of the lawyer’s practice. The lawyer must demonstrate a substantial complete knowledge of substantive law and rules of practice, procedure, evidence and ethics pertaining to injury and wrongful death litigation. A Board Certified Lawyer must possess a high degree of skill, thoroughness, preparation, effectiveness and judgment in the field of injury and wrongful death litigation. The lawyer must successfully complete a rigorous written examination. In addition, the lawyer’s competency and integrity are verified through a peer review process. The Specialization Board requires that the Board Certified Lawyer attend yearly continuing legal education in the field of specialization. As a Board Certified Lawyer in personal injury and wrongful death, my clients include people who have been injured in automobile collisions, injured due to defective products, traumatized by sexual abuse, or who have suffered devastating injury due to dangerous conditions involving premises. I represent the elderly and vulnerable persons in nursing homes or institutions who have been abused or neglected by their caretakers.
